A BRIEF HISTORY of WBMPAF

When the film and television industry was expanding and taking a much bigger and better shape in West Bengal, a group of eminent film personalities came forward and decided to form an association with a basic aim to unite all film and television actors of West Bengal under one roof and also to protect their interests, to foster goodwill and fellowship amongst its members and associates so as to build a better working environment in the industry, they belong to. 

The WEST BENGAL MOTION PICTURES ARTISTS' FORUM was formed on 12TH March 1998 at 60, Hindusthan Park, Kolkata - 700029 in presence of the following Actors:


Prosenjit Chatterjee, Dilip Roy, Biplab Chatterjee, Arun Bandyopadhyay, Shankar Chakraborty, Saswata Chatterjee, Pallavi Chatterjee, Abhishek Chatterjee, Arindam Sil, Sandip Ghosh, Sreelekha Mitra, Tapas Paul, Subhasis Mukherjee, Bodhisatta Majumder, Labony Sarker, Pijush Ganguly, Subhendu Chatterjee, Ramen Roy Choudhury, Kushal Chakraborty, Bhaskar Banerjee, Bharat Kaul, Ranjan Bhattacharya, Chandan Sen, June Maliah, Rahul Chakraborty, Lily Chakraborty, Kalyan Chatterjee, Arjun Chakraborty, Ashok Mukherjee, Phalguni Sanyal, Santu Mukherjee, Jayanta Dutta Burman, Sambhu Bhattacharjee,  Monu Mukherjee, Manoj Mitra, Sunil Mukherjee, Nayna Das, Arjun Bhattacharya, Mouli Ganguly, Nikhilesh Das Gupta.

WBMPAF was registered under the Trade Union Act on 12thAugust, 1998 and got affiliated to FCTWEI, AIFEC, Mumbai in the year 2011.

Since then it has not only confined its activities within the industry but also spread its wings to help the society at the time of distress. WBMPAF plays an important role in the industry so as to maintain a healthy working atmosphere by building up cordial relationships between the producers, directors, technicians, channels and all other associates, directly or indirectly related to the industry.

WBMPAF is now an organization with more than 2500 members which consists of eminent film personalities not only of today's generation but also of yesteryears.
